Well, as the title says, I’m pretty happy with myself.  I started this journey exactly 8 days ago and here I am already 1.1 kgs down.

Do you know how hard it is to take a close up photo of the scales while you’re standing on them?  I tried 3 times to get a snap of the number for this blog, but alas it was blurry or dull, or too dark.  Anyway, you’ll just have to take my word for it.  I’m 1.1 kgs down from my initial weigh in, 112.1 down to 111.0 kgs.

One of the things you have to be mindful of when you go through this type of transformation is that people often expect massive results just like the ones they see on TV.  Contestants in shows like the biggest loser lose huge numbers off the scale in only 7 days.

You’d expect that living in an environment where you have no responsibilities (work, children, house keeping etc) and all your exercise and nutrition planned for you, as well as 24 hour medical supervision.

However, one thing I’ve discovered is that the weigh ins aren’t always 7 days apart.

Sometimes they’re 9-10 days apart.  The other thing to be mindful of is this:  By only losing 1.1 kgs in 7 days, not once this week have I felt starving.  Yes I’ve been sore, but not hungry.

The slower the reduction, the more chances of it being a longer lasting change.

Sunday is another full on day for me sport wise.  My son also plays rugby in the Under 10’s and I am his coach.  Which means today started with another early rise, a quick breakfast and out the door for his teams 9.20am kick off.

Again he was a frustrated spectator on the side lines thanks to a sore ankle but hopefully, he’ll be back on deck next week.  The boys played well in parts but lacked enthusiasm at the breakdown and as a result we went down by 4 points.

I ended up having to stay at the ground to assess another referee who required his level 1 referee accreditation which dragged out the morning.

We got home in time for lunch which again was last night’s dinner as a reheated leftovers before I headed downstairs to the computer to write the two coaching reports from the games I’d watched over the weekend.

No training again today but I did manage to get a good 20 mins of stretching done so I’m pretty happy with that.

Keep up the good work if you are also following along.
