You know how there are all these types of diets out there, like the Atkins Diet, the CSIRO Diet, the Pritikin Diet, the 7 day Lemon Detox Diet, the High fat Diet, the Low carb Diet.  And you know how people claim to have achieved amazing results on these same diets?  Well chances are they’re telling the truth.  That’s because those diets worked FOR THEM.  The trick is to work out, what’s best for you.

Take a look around and you’ll see how different we all are.  I’m a classic example.  I’m a Maori.  I’m different to a lot of you people.  My ancestors evolved over hundreds of thousands of years to eat what ever was available to them, which included a ton of seafood, very little red meat (until the Missionaries colonised the pacific) in season fruit, available nuts and some vegetables.  There was no white flour, white sugar and definitely no diary.

If your ancestors lived above the arctic circle, you can pretty much guarantee that there was very little vegetable matter in their diet.  A ton of saturated fat in the form of whale and seal blubber, again, not much red meat and definitely no white flour, grain, or white sugar.

If your ancestors lived in the middle of the Amazon rain forest, chances are they were vegetarians, given their lack of access to any meat sources.

So what am I trying to say here?

 The reality is, you and your ancestors have evolved to eat what ever was available to them, the trick is figuring out what that is.  In the 21st century we have everything from all over the world now available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.  There is no such thing as a season because the large supermarket chains can deliver fruit and vegetables to our pallets all year round.  they can also deliver food from virtually anywhere on the planet as well as some highly processed rubbish as well.
